Privacy Policy
Effective April 25, 2026
1. Who We Are
TabUp is a mobile application that helps you split bills with friends. References to "TabUp," "we," "us," or "our" in this policy refer to TabUp and its operators.
Questions about this policy can be directed to csladedev@outlook.com.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name and email address.
- Payment handles. Usernames or handles you optionally add for Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal so friends can pay you back. We store these handles but never store payment credentials or process transactions.
- Receipt data. Images and extracted text from receipts you scan. Processed to identify line items and totals.
- Usage data. Basic analytics such as app events, crash reports, and device type. Never sold.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To operate and improve the TabUp app and service
- To send push notifications for tab activity (new tabs, payment reminders, settlements)
- To generate share links that let you invite others to a tab
- To process and display receipt data within the app
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Account data is retained for the life of your account and for a reasonable period after deletion to comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us.
5. Third-Party Services
TabUp integrates with the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase — authentication and push notifications
- Amazon Web Services — API hosting and data storage
- Venmo, Cash App, PayPal — payment links (we do not process or store payment information)
These services have their own privacy policies and we encourage you to review them.
6. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing csladedev@outlook.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Children's Privacy
TabUp is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of TabUp after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
